Ecoman's preliminary investigation trip to Egypt

Ecoman's team recently conducted a preliminary investigation trip to Egypt, visiting citrus, apricots, and grapes farms. In Egypt, the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) poses a significant threat to fruit crops, with 8–10 overlapping generations per year due to its high reproductive potential and dispersive ability.

To combat this pest, our team introduced mass baiting technology using Great Fruit Fly Bait (GFFB) and installed delta traps with Trimedlure to attract the male medflies. The initial results show promising outcomes with a notable attraction of male med flies to the Trimedlure.

Stay tuned as we prepare to implement trials in citrus farms in Egypt to further test the effectiveness of these control measures.
